Some users are asking me about DevuanPup, why we are not working on it, and why this distribution is not in the list of derivatives at DEVUAN.ORG.
These are some of the reasons this is not considered a derivative of DEVUAN:
Notes which helps to explain why it is not on Devuan Derivatives list. Seems there is not much Devuan in there!
afaict there are only about half a dozen devuan packages installed.
correction: four of our forked packages
ii fdisk 2.38.1-5devuan1+b1 amd64 collection of partitioning utilities
ii gir1.2-udisks-2.0:amd64 2.9.4-4devuan1 amd64 GObject based library to access udisks2 – introspection data
ii libudisks2-0:amd64 2.9.4-4devuan1 amd64 GObject based library to access udisks2
ii udisks2
sources.list has one line enabled – just daedalus main. No -security or -updates (they’re commented). I’m guessing that’s a leftover from when daedalus was still in testing.
Oh, one other sigificant finding. systemd is installed and on hold, and sysvinit, runit or openrc are not installed.
SO it is possible the developer must think about this.
